Update on the situation of citizens of the Republic of Moldova in the Middle East – 9 March 2026

The Crisis Cell of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Moldova continues to monitor security developments in the Middle East through the Republic of Moldova’s diplomatic missions in the region.

Citizens of the Republic of Moldova in the countries concerned are encouraged to follow the official Facebook pages of the Republic of Moldova’s embassies, where updates on the security situation, local authorities’ measures and available travel options are regularly published.

State of Israel

The situation remains largely unchanged.

The Embassy of the Republic of Moldova in the State of Israel continues to monitor developments and provide consular assistance to Moldovan citizens in the country, based on the requests received.

United Arab Emirates

The overall situation remains without major changes. UAE authorities continue to monitor the security situation, while public services and infrastructure are operating normally, with certain limitations affecting commercial flights.

The Embassy of the Republic of Moldova in Abu Dhabi continues to provide consular assistance to Moldovan citizens affected by air transport disruptions, remains in contact with local authorities and relevant partners, and is assessing available options for citizens of the Republic of Moldova who wish to leave the region.

On the afternoon of 8 March, 33 citizens of the Republic of Moldova, including persons holding dual citizenship, arrived safely in Chișinău on a flight operating on the Dubai–Chișinău route.

State of Qatar

The situation remains largely unchanged. The Embassy of the Republic of Moldova in Doha continues to monitor developments and to manage requests for information and consular assistance from Moldovan citizens in the State of Qatar.

Republic of Türkiye

The Embassy of the Republic of Moldova in Ankara continues to monitor developments in the region and maintains contact with citizens of the Republic of Moldova in the countries for which it is concurrently accredited.

Republic of Azerbaijan

The Embassy of the Republic of Moldova in Baku continuously monitors security developments in the Islamic Republic of Iran and remains in contact with the competent authorities and diplomatic partners to assess the situation.

Citizens of the Republic of Moldova who may be in Iran are encouraged to follow information published by the Embassy of the Republic of Moldova in the Republic of Azerbaijan:
