On 23 March 2026, Chișinău will host the third edition of the Black Sea Security Conference, organised under the auspices of the International Crimea Platform. The event continues the dialogue launched in Bucharest in 2023 and subsequently in Sofia in 2024, against the backdrop of the Russian Federation’s aggression against Ukraine.
The conference will bring together high-level officials from the Republic of Moldova, Ukraine, and partner states, as well as representatives of international organisations, the business community, civil society, and academia. The meeting is co-organised by the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and the Ministries of Defence of the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine, with the support of the European Union.
Given the significant impact of the Russian Federation’s armed aggression against Ukraine on the security situation in the Black Sea and Azov Sea regions, discussions will focus on regional security strategies, freedom of navigation, the impact on critical infrastructure, the importance of regional cooperation, lessons learned, and the formulation of practical recommendations aimed at strengthening regional security and resilience.
