The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Moldova rejects the accusations of violating the 1961 Vienna Convention following the events at the Russian Embassy in Chișinău on March 19.
Authorities acted in accordance with the law and international commitments after receiving an alert about a potential threat to the embassy. The purpose of the measures was to ensure the safety of diplomatic staff, nearby citizens, and public order.
Access around the embassy was temporarily restricted, following standard procedures, without affecting the diplomatic mission’s activities. Moldova respects the Vienna Convention and guarantees the necessary conditions for the proper conduct of diplomatic activities.
The Republic of Moldova reaffirms its respect for international law and rejects any attempts to distort the facts.
