June 26, 2025, Chișinău – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs organized today a roundtable entitled “The Process of Concluding International Treaties – Challenges and Perspectives,” which brought together officials from the central public authorities of the Republic of Moldova. The event aimed to identify and analyze the most frequent difficulties encountered in the negotiation, signing, and implementation of international treaties.

In the context of the intensifying European integration process and the significant increase in the number of international agreements concluded by the Republic of Moldova, the meeting sought to strengthen institutional capacities in the field of treaty law.

More than 30 representatives of public authorities participated in the event, with discussions focusing on the effective application of the existing regulatory framework, the use of relevant legal instruments, and the identification of mechanisms for efficient cooperation at the international level.

Participants were familiarized with the essential stages of the negotiation process of bilateral and multilateral treaties — from initiation and signing to entry into force and effective implementation.

The periodic organization of such training sessions reflects the constant commitment of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to promote best practices in the field of legal diplomacy and to support the continuous professional development of public officials involved in managing international relations. These exercises have proven to be valuable tools for strengthening institutional capacities and reinforcing the rule of law in foreign affairs.
