16 April 2020, Chișinău - The effects of the pandemic crisis, mutual assistance in the repatriation of citizens and the development of bilateral cooperation were the main topics discussed today in the telephone conversation of Foreign Minister Oleg Țulea with the Austrian Federal Minister for European and International Affairs Alexander Schallenberg.

In the context of the measures taken by the MFAEI to repatriate Moldovan citizens in pandemic conditions, Minister Țulea thanked his Austrian counterpart for his support for the safe return of citizens in difficulty on the territory of Austria and at border crossing points.

At the same time, today's conversation was a good opportunity to reiterate the mutual desire to continue the good cooperation between the two states. On both sides was expressed satisfaction for a very good level of Moldo-Austrian dialogue and cooperation on multiple areas, as well as the desire for further development, including on the dimension of European integration of the Republic of Moldova.

Minister Țulea underlined the availability of the Moldovan side for the dynamisation of the economic cooperation, at the level of the potential offered by the two states. In this context, were expressed thanks for the substantial technical assistance provided by Austria to our country in priority areas for the Republic of Moldova, noting the beneficial impact of assistance projects carried out through the Austrian Development Agency.

In turn, the Austrian official congratulated Minister Oleg Țulea on his appointment, expressing his willingness to work with his Moldovan counterpart to further strengthen the bilateral dialogue.
