The Republic of Moldova and the Republic of India are interested in expanding their bilateral relations
July 26th, Chisinau - The current state and the ways to enhance the Moldovan-Indian relations, the cooperation within the international organizations, as well as the opportunities to diversify the commercial and economic ties, were discussed today at the meeting between the Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, Tudor Ulianovschi, and the Ambassador Agréé of the Republic of India to the Republic of Moldova, Thanglura Darlong.

During the dialogue, the head of the Moldovan diplomacy mentioned that the Republic of Moldova is interested in developing the bilateral relations with India, and, in this regards, the decision to open a diplomatic mission of the Republic of Moldova in New Delhi has been adopted, with the aim to create the necessary premises to further enhance the relations between the two countries on all dimensions.

Referring to the bilateral cooperation, Minister Tudor Ulianovschi appreciated the support of New Delhi’s Central Government in terms of providing scholarships for the training of Moldovan civil servants, through the Technical and Economic Assistance Program of the Republic of India, including for the training courses provided to the MFAEI young diplomats by the Foreign Service Institute of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of India. In the context of the creation of the National Diplomatic Institute within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, the head of the Moldovan diplomacy expressed the interest of the MFAEI to establish a partnership with the counterpart institution in India, with the aim of exchanging experience on diplomatic staff and national civil servants training.

At his turn, Ambassador Thanglura Darlong reiterated his country's interest in expanding and deepening the relations of cooperation with the Republic of Moldova, in various areas of mutual interest, including agriculture, pharmaceuticals, information technologies and other.

The officials expressed their belief that the upcoming visit of the Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of the Republic of Moldova to the Republic of India, to take place between August 10th to August 15th 2018, will represent an important step for the expansion and further development of the bilateral relations, including for the initiation of new investment projects with the participation of Indian companies, etc.

In addition, today, the Ambassador Agréé of the Republic of India to the Republic of Moldova, Thanglura Darlong, has presented to the Secretary of State for bilateral and multilateral affairs, Tatiana Molcean, the copies of his Letters of Credence, in his capacity of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to our country, with residence in Bucharest.
