RM – EU consultations on foreign and security policy

7th of June, 2018 – The strengthening of the dialogue between the Republic of Moldova and the European Union on the dimension of foreign and security policy was the main topic on the agenda of the forth reunion of EU – RM bilateral consultations on Common Security and Defense Policy (CSDP), chaired by State Secretary for European Integration, Daniela Morari and Gabor Iklody, Director of the Crisis Management and Planning Directorate from the European External Action Service.

During the discussions, the interlocutors reviewed the elements of cooperation with the EU on the dimension of foreign and security policy, as well as the developments in the security sector of the European Union.

Moreover, representatives of Moldovan institutions that were present at the discussions, referred to the actions that were taken to strengthen institutional capabilities in the field of defense, of countering different types of security threats, including cyber and hybrid type, highlighting the importance of capitalizing on the opportunities offered by the EU policy documents in strengthening state resilience.

Appreciating the quality of the cooperation with our country, Gabor Iklody reiterated the European Union’s openness for deepening the dialogue, in order to extend the interaction with Moldova on the security dimension.
