State Secretary Tatiana Molcean encouraged the participation of U.S. companies in investing in various sectors of the national economy
June 7, Washington D.C. – The development of trade and the promotion of investments were the main subjects discussed by State Secretary, Tatiana Molcean, during her working visit to the USA, with Betsy Hafner, Deputy Assistant of the United States Trade Representative (USTR) and the representatives of the Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC).

During the meeting, Tatiana Molcean presented the priorities of the Government and the efforts made for the ensuring of the economic growth, sustainable development, trade facilitation, investment attraction and other issues on the bilateral agenda of Moldovan-American cooperation. In context, the State Secretary encouraged the participation of companies and investors from the USA in the Free Economic Zones activity, industrial and technological parks in the Republic of Moldova, mentioning the attractive terms for investing in different sectors of the national economy.

The interlocutors convened upon continuing the dialogue on the grounding of the legal framework which governs the economic and investment bilateral cooperation, reiterating the intention to enhance the economic and trade relations. Regarding future activities, the sides mentioned the possibility of organizing visits, promotional events, economic forums, as well as organizing the Joint Commercial Commission meeting in Washington D.C., during the year.
