Republic of Moldova and the Argentine Republic plead for the consolidation of the bilateral relations
June 5th, Chişinău – The subjects of consolidation of the bilateral relations by capitalizing the economic, social and humanitarian potential, intensification of the political dialogue, extension of the bilateral legal framework, as well as the interest of opening the Embassy of the Republic of Moldova in Buenos Aires, were discussed during the meeting of State Secretary for legal affairs, Carolina Perebinos,  with the Ambassador of the Argentine Republic to the Republic of Moldova, with residence in Bucharest, Felipe Alvarez de Toledo.

During the meeting, the sides highlighted the good cooperation between our countries along the 25 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations and the mutual interest for the consolidation of the bilateral relations in various fields.

The two officials mentioned the need for capitalizing the existent potential in the economic field, by organizing business missions and enhancing the contacts between relevant institutions of both countries. It was also highlighted the opportunity of organizing mutual visits at different levels. The interlocutors appreciated the good cooperation between Republic of Moldova and the Argentine Republic within international organizations and mentioned the necessity of extending the existent bilateral legal framework.

Therewith, the officials expressed the conviction that the opening of the Embassy of the Republic of Moldova in Buenos Aires will substantially contribute to the deepening and extension of the bilateral relations.

The sides approached the subject on the facilitation of travel for the citizens of both countries, in the context of the recent unilateral abolition of visas, by the Republic of Moldova, for the Argentine citizens.

The diplomatic relations between Republic of Moldova and the Argentine Republic were established on March 8th, 1993.
