The priorities of Austria's Presidency of the Council of the EU discussed at the MFAEI

28th of May, Chişinău – Some of the events planned during Austria's Presidency of the Council of the European Union in the second half of 2018, the European agenda of the Republic of Moldova and the ways for enhancing the cooperation within the Eastern Partnership framework, have been discussed by State Secretary Daniela Morari and the Special Envoy on Eastern Partnership within the Austrian Federal Ministry for Europe, Integration and Foreign Affairs, Thomas Buchsbaum.

During the discussion, Daniela Morari informed the interlocutor on the recent developments of the bilateral dialogue with the European Union, the reform priorities in the context of the Association Agreement and proposed the extension of existing formats, but also the establishment of new cooperation formats in the bilateral as well as multilateral dimension of the Eastern Partnership. The Moldovan official has underlined: “In the context of enhancing cooperation within the Eastern Partnership I would like to emphasize the interest of the Republic of Moldova in developing this cooperation platform, along with the ongoing efforts to implement reforms in our country”.

The Austrian diplomat welcomed the progresses of the Republic of Moldova, expressing the readiness to continue supporting our country in moving forward the reform agenda, including during Austria's Presidency of the Council of the European Union.
