Bartosz Cichocki: "The Republic of Poland will continue to support the European path of the Republic of Moldova"

25 May, Chisinau - The Republic of Poland will further support the European path of the Republic of Moldova. The statement was made by the Undersecretary of State for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland, Bartosz Cichocki, during the meetings with State Secretaries Tatiana Molcean and Daniela Morari.

During the meetings, the officials discussed issues related to bilateral cooperation in various fields of mutual interest, development assistance, economic, energy, cultural cooperation, the results of the implementation of the Republic of Moldova – European Union Association Agreement, the Transnistrian issue, attracting investments in the economy of the Republic of Moldova, intensifying collaboration on the Eastern Partnership platform, etc.

Referring to the current state of bilateral relations, State Secretary Tatiana Molcean noted their dynamic character, highlighting the intensification of political contacts at different levels lately and expressing her confidence that the bilateral relations will also have an increase in trade. The Moldovan official has also mentioned the good collaboration of our countries within the international and regional organizations.
In terms of priorities of the Republic of Moldova - European Union dialogue, State Secretary Daniela Morari informed the interlocutor about the efforts of the Moldovan authorities in the implementation of the Association Agreement, noting simultaneously and the opportunities to strengthen the support of Poland in achieving structural changes directed to align the Republic of Moldova to European standards.

In turn, Bartosz Cichocki reiterated the willingness of Poland to further support the European integration path of the Republic of Moldova, including by strengthening the capacity of the institutions of the Republic of Moldova to implement the Association Agreement. According to the Polish official, this support also refers to the intensification of cooperation on the Eastern Partnership platform, in the capacity of Poland as co-initiator of this initiative.

Also, the parties agreed to intensify joint efforts to attract Polish investments in the economy of the Republic of Moldova.
