The Kingdom of Belgium supports Republic of Moldova’s reform agenda

May 18th, Chişinău – The priorities of Republic of Moldova’s European agenda, as well as Belgium possibilities of support in promoting structural reforms were discussed during the meeting of state secretary for European integration Daniela Morari with the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Belgium to the Republic of Moldova, with residence in Bucharest, Thomas Baekelandt, on a working visit in Chişinău.

Daniela Morari informed her interlocutor on the results of the IVth meeting of the Republic of Moldova – European Union Association Council, priorities for consolidating Republic of Moldova – European Union cooperation, as well as efforts undertaken by the authorities in implementing the Association Agreement.

Likewise, the Moldovan official pointed out the potential of deepening cooperation within the Eastern Partnership platform, the necessity to develop civil society’s capacities in sustaining efforts to modernize the country. Hence, the possibilities of taking over Belgium’s experience and expertise in supporting the European integration process of the Republic of Moldova were discussed.

Ambassador Thomas Baekelandt welcomed Republic of Moldova’s progresses and expressed Belgium’s availability to continue supporting our country in advancing the reforms agenda.
