Meeting of the Foreign Minister Andrei Galbur with the State Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, Kazuyuki Nakane
Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Andrei Galbur met with the State Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, Kazuyuki Nakane, on the sidelines of the OSCE Ministerial Council in Viena.

The meeting focused on important issues on the Moldovan-Japanese bilateral political agenda, as well as on enhancing the cooperation in multiple areas of common interest. Particularly, Foreign Minister Andrei Galbur expressed gratitude for the valuable contribution of the Government of Japan in modernizing various sectors of the Republic of Moldova through assistance programs, also noting the importance of Japanese investments in our country.

In his turn, State Minister Kazuyuki Nakane reiterated his country's openness for strengthening the bilateral political relations, supporting and encouraging the reform agenda of the Republic of Moldova. At the same time, the parties pointed out that the mutual opening of embassies confirmed the bilateral objectives to build a lasting and advantageous relationship.

The Japanese official announced the intention of his country to facilitate the visa procedure for Moldovan citizens, mainly for businessmen.

Both sides expressed the interest in boosting Moldovan-Japanese cooperation within international and regional organizations, especially appreciating the cooperation in the GUAM + Japan framework. In this context, they reiterated the willingness of both diplomacies to cooperate successfully during Moldova’s rotating presidency to GUAM in 2018.
