The Republic of Moldova - North Carolina cooperation discussed at the Foreign Ministry

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, Lilian Darii, met today, 7 September 2017, with the Liaison Officer of the North Carolina Secretary of State, member of the Republic of Moldova - North Carolina Bilateral Committee, Lora Sinigur, during her working visit to Chişinău.

Both sides appreciated the good relations and showed mutual interest in strengthening Moldova - North Carolina partnership by further implementing the bilateral Memorandum of Principles and Procedures. They also welcomed the planning for the next joint Moldova - North Carolina Committee meeting to be held in North Carolina.

In this regard, a number of proposals aimed at exchanging expertise in the field of academic and scientific exchanges, culture, education, health, environment, agriculture, economic and trade cooperation were assessed.

The Republic of Moldova - North Carolina Bilateral Partnership was launched in 1995 for exchanges of military experience, being extended in 1999 towards other areas of common interest. Throughout these years, professionals of a wide range of sectors, among them public servants and high officials, visited North Carolina for exchanging experience and best practices.
