Meeting of the Deputy Minister Daniela Morari with the UNDP and IOM Team of the Program on Mainstreaming Migration into National Development Strategies
On August 24, deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Daniela Morari, met with the Monitoring Team from UNDP and IOM for the MOMID Project (Mainstreaming Migration into National Development Strategies).

Deputy Minister expressed appreciation for the support and good cooperation in implementing the projects and initiatives within the RM-EU Mobility Partnership. Deputy Minister Morari stressed the importance of the MOMID Project action contributing to maximizing the positive effects of migration in national policies and minimizing the negative impact on the country's economic development. Moldova's commitment to capitalize the Partnership’s potential in the field of migration, mobility and development, including for the fulfilment of the Sustainable Development Objectives of Agenda 2030, as well as the interest to contribute with national experience to the implementation of the UN Global Compact for Migration were reiterated.

UNDP and IOM representatives appreciated the cooperation with national authorities during the implementation of the MOMID Project and expressed their support and openness for the implementation of national initiatives in the field of migration and development also in the third phase of the Program.



Note: Global Program "Integration of Migration in the National Development Strategies" is implemented in eight countries: Moldova, Bangladesh, Ecuador, Jamaica, Kyrgyzstan, Morocco, Tunisia and Serbia in order to facilitate migration integration into development planning documents and National strategies of the participating countries, as well as continuously monitor and adjust these countries' approaches to migration and development (M&D) in consultation with all relevant actors. Thus, in Moldova the Program is implemented by IOM Moldova jointly with UNDP Moldova under the coordination of the State Chancellery, financed by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation.
