Exchange of letters of congratulation on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Moldova and the Republic of Latvia
The Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, Andrei Galbur and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Latvia, Edgars Rinkēvičs, have exchanged today letters of congratulations on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Moldova and the Republic of Latvia.
 
The Head of Moldovan diplomacy mentioned in his letter that during 25 years of diplomatic relations, the political Moldovan-Latvian dialogue has intensified and the bilateral cooperation between the states has been developed in various fields of common interest. Minister Galbur expressed his confidence that this opportunity is not only a moment of celebration but also a good one for seeking ways to further expand the cooperation between the two countries. “The Republic of Moldova highly appreciates the support received from the Republic of Latvia in the process of European integration”,  is stated in the letter.
 
In his turn, the Latvian counterpart Edgars Rinkēvičs has appreciated the good relations of friendship and bilateral cooperation during the 25 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations. Minister Rinkēvičs mentioned that the Republic of Latvia will continue to support the close ties the Republic of Moldova has with the European Union and will help to facilitate the reform process by providing the necessary expertise, also expressing the conviction that the partnership will continue in the future.
 
Note: Diplomatic relations between the Republic of Moldova and the Republic of Latvia were established on September 1st, 1992.
