The Ministry of Foreign Affairs urges the Russian Authorities to stop illegal recruitment activities on the territory of the Republic of Moldova for the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration sent the Embassy of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Moldova a note verbale urging the Russian authorities to stop illegal recruitment on the territory of the Republic of Moldova of citizens for the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. 

Referring to the recent recruitment activities registered in Ternovca village, Slobozia district, but also to other similar cases previously registered, the Ministry reiterated the official position of Moldovan authorities according to which such actions disregard the legislation of the Republic of Moldova, norms and principles of the international law, as well as Moldovan-Russian bilateral agreements, in particular, the Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation between the Republic of Moldova and the Russian Federation.

In this context, the Chişinău’s demarches on the need to withdraw the Russian troops and ammunition from the territory of the Republic of Moldova, as well as to transform the peacekeeping operation into a civil multinational mission with an international mandate, have also been reiterated.
