Foreign citizens will be able to request online short-stay visas for the Republic of Moldova

On August 1st 2014, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration is launching the e-Visa service, which will allow applicants for short-stay visas to the Republic of Moldova to submit applications online through the governmental portal
e-Visa is equivalent to the traditional visa and represents a printed authorization that confers to a foreigner the right to enter the territory of the Republic of Moldova at any border-crossing point. In order to obtain the visa, the applicant will complete the visa application form in an electronic format and will attach the required set of documents. In case of approval, the person will pay the visa fee by credit card and will receive the electronic visa via e-mail.
e-Visa seeks to facilitate the issuance of visas for citizens of countries where there are no diplomatic missions of the Republic of Moldova by discarding the requirement of personal presence at the consular office.
This project should significantly contribute to the development of tourism and business by offering foreign citizens the opportunity to take advantage of an efficient, convenient, safe, and quick service. e-Visa is part of the e-Transformation project, supported by the World Bank and implemented through the Electronic Governance Center.
