18.01.2012The meeting of the Minister Iurie Leanca with the Azerbaijani counterpart, Elmar Mammadyarov
The Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, Iurie Leanca, on January 18, 2012 in Baku met with his Azerbaijani counterpart, Elmar Mammadyarov. The meeting took place in the context of the official visit of Prime Minister of Moldova, Vladimir Filat, in the Republic of Azerbaijan.
The parties noted with satisfaction that this movement of Moldovan Delegation enabled the examination of the entire spectrum of topics on the bilateral agenda and created the needed prerequisites to revitalize the Moldovan-Azerbaijani relations in all fields. The two ministers mentioned that the cooperation level in commercial and economic sphere does not correspond to the existing potential between the two states and have agreed upon the implementation of some concrete actions meant to contribute in actuating the economic relations. Especially, they noticed the need to prepare the ordinary meeting of the Moldovan-Azerbaijani Intergovernmental Commission for economic cooperation, development of which is expected in spring, in Chisinau. Iurie Leanca and Elmar Mammadyarov have also decided to strengthen the bilateral legal framework. A special topic of the discussions has been the interaction of both states within the international and regional organizations.
