Signing the Protocol of the Meeting of Joint Moldovan-Greek Commission

After a break of four years, the Moldovan-Greek Inter-governmental Commission for economic, trade and technical-scientific cooperation met today, November 25, 2011 in Chisinau, in the second working session, after the first meeting held on November 29, 2007, in Athens. The Co-Chairman of the Commission on behalf of the Republic of Moldova is the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Andrei Popov, while the delegation of the Hellenic Republic is led by the Secretary General for International Economic Relations of the MFA, Constantine Papadopoulos.


The Commission met to enhance bilateral economic dialogue and encourage businesses to actively cooperate. Towards the end of the meeting between Moldovan and Greek experts, the two officials signed the Protocol of the Second Meeting of Joint Commission, providing for expanding of opportunities to enhance dialogue in areas such as foreign investment, agriculture, transport and communications, consumer protection, tourism, science and innovation, light industry, construction and architecture, etc. and can facilitate direct dialogue between businesses from both countries. Also, the Moldovan side came up with a proposal to organize a Moldovan-Greek business forum next year, with participation of a third party.
