Meeting of the National Coordinators of the member states of the Central European Initiative (ICE)

On November 25th -26th 2008, in Chisinau, will take place the meeting of the Committee of National Coordinators (CNC) of the CEI member states, which is organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of the Republic of Moldova within the Presidency of the Republic of Moldova to the Central European Initiative.

According to the Agenda of the meeting, the National Coordinators will examine the ongoing Meeting of the CEI Ministers of Foreign Affairs from 27th November 2008 and Summit of the CEI Heads of Government which will be held in Chisinau on 28th of November 2008.

Moldovan Presidency will present the definitive version of the Draft Agenda for the Plenary Session of the Ministerial Meeting as will inform on the latest developments concerning organisational and protocol arrangements for the CEI Summit. Also, a discussion on the procedure to be followed by the CNC regarding the modalities foreseen for gradually improving the financial contribution to the CEI Operational Activities will be held. All National Coordinators will be invited to report on recent and upcoming activities of interest to the Central European Initiative.

The meetings of 25th — 26th of November will be chaired by Mr. Dumitru TIRA, National Coordinator of the Republic of Moldova to the CEI, Director of Regional Cooperation Directorate within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of Moldova.

CEI is an organization that brings together 18 states: Albania, Austria, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Croatia, Italy, Macedonia, Montenegro, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Serbia, Ukraine, and Hungary.

Republic of Moldova joined the Central European Initiative in 1996, actively being involved in the process of regional cooperation in Central and South Eastern Europe.
