Meeting Andrei Stratan – Pertti Salolainen

On October 8, 2008, Mr. Andrei Stratan, Deputy Prime-Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, had a meeting with the Finn delegation, headed by Mr. Pertti Salolainen, President of the Commission for Foreign Affairs of the Parliament of the Republic of Finland.

During the meeting the interlocutors have prominenced the good relationships which exist at the moment, between the Republic of Moldova and Finland, mentioning, as well, the constant support provided by Finland towards the European aspirations of Moldova.

Pertti Salolainen has reiterated the Finland’s support, as being a country which helds the Presidency of OSCE, in order to solve the transnistrean conflict, by maintaining the "5+2" negotiation format.

In the context of examination of the subject of the European integration of the Republic of Moldova, the Deputy Prime-Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, has underlined the importance of adopting a new legal framework of the Moldovan-communitarian relations.

Another discussed issue was the one concerning the access to the four liberties of EU, including a clarified European perspective for Moldova. The parts have mentioned on the importance of launching a deeper dialog with the EU regarding overcomming the concordant steps for establishing a gradual liberalization of visa regim for the Moldovan.

Also, Andrei Stratan has spoken about exercising the 5 Presinencies held at the moment by the Republic of Moldova in the framework of the regional organizations, fact which contributes substantially to consolidation of the interstatal cooperation in the regional and communitarian context.
