In Brussels took place the meeting of the Troika COEST EU — Moldova

Today, November 22, in Brussels took place the meeting of the Troika COEST EU — Moldova. The Moldovan delegation was headed by Mr. Valeriu Ostalep, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration.

During the respective meeting subjects related to the current dialog RM — EU, including the last evolutions regarding the settlement of the transnistrian issue were discussed. Both sides agreed that important progress, at the political, as well at the experts level were registered.

In the same context, the Moldovan experts expressed the availability to further consolidate the cooperation dialog between the RM and the EU, based on the principles of progressive development of relations, support in the process of reforms that are taking place in Moldova and of the mutual understanding on this instruments of implementation.

The EU side underlined that the Republic of Moldova registered positive evolutions in the process of reforms that are completed according to the engagements included in the Action Plan RM — EU. At the same time, the Republic of Moldova was encouraged to continue the reforms in the key fields, ensuring an adequate implementation of the new laws that correspond to the European standards.

Taking the opportunity of this meeting, Mr. Ostalep, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, had discussion regarding the future perspectives RM-EU with Mrs. Liliana Mascarenhas Neto, Head of Department for Eastern Europe and Central Asia, MFA of Portugal, Representative of the current EU Presidency and Mrs. Darja Bavdaz Kuret, Ambassador, Director of the Direction for Eastern Europe and Central Asia, MFA of Slovenia, Representative of the future EU Presidency. On this occasion, the Deputy Minister met as well Mr. Kin Darroch, Ambassador, Permanent Representative of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
