The Moldovan President Vladimir Voronin had today a phone conversation with the President of the Republic of Lithuania, Valdas Adamkus, reported to MOLDPRES the press service of the presidential institution.
The subjects of discussion referred to the social-political situation in Moldova, and the Lithuanian Head of state appreciated that the Moldovan authorities restored public order, on April 7, without applying force. Expressing solidarity with the way the state leadership of the Republic of Moldova managed the situation in the protest actions, Valdas Adamkus underlined the importance of the evolution of events in strict conformity with the democratic principles and standards.
During the telephone conversation there were discussed also issues concerning the European integration of the Republic of Moldova and the Eastern Partnership.
