At the recent visit in the Republic of Moldova of Mr. Lazar Comanescu, Minister of Foreign Affaires of Romania, was examined the actuality of different domains of bilateral relations, inclusively for enhancement the cooperation in consular domain.
Thus, at the meeting with Mr. Vladimir Voronin with Romanian dignitary was proposed the opening, in the next future, a Consulate of the Republic of Moldova in Iasi and a Consulate of Romania in Cahul, for facilitate the mechanism of consular services for the citizens of both countries.
Starting with the necessity of expansion the juridical framework for bilateral relations was express the mutual availability to urgency the negotiations process and to sign the Treaty between Republic of Moldova and Romania regarding state frontier. This will open real perspectives for ulterior signing the Convention regarding frontier traffic.
In this context, will be examined the possibility of opening, based on mutual principle, a Consulate in Constanta and respectively in Balti.
On these subjects Ministry of Foreign Affaires and European Integration of the Republic of Moldova sent a Verbal Note to the address of Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affaires.
