The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration

is the central body which promotes the State’s policy in the area of foreign relations and conducts its activity in conformity with the Constitution and the laws of the Republic of Moldova, the decisions of the Parliament, Decrees of the President of the Republic of Moldova, decisions of the Government, and other normative documents, international treaties and agreements to which the Republic of Moldova is party.

  • Minister Iurie Leancă will pay a visit to Lithuania
    During October 12-13 a delegation from the Republic of Lithuania, led by Mr Evaldas Ignatavičius, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, paid a working visit to the Republic of Moldova. The Lithuanian delegation had meetings with Mr Iurie Leancă, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, and Ms Natalia Gherman, Deputy Minister.
  • Meeting on issuance of EU visas to transportation services from Moldova
    On July 28, 2009, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of the Republic of Moldova, was held a meeting with the representatives of the EU embassies and consulates at Chisinau in which the improvement of the visa issuance procedure for drivers who provide international transportation services of goods and passengers to the EU Member States territory, with vehicles registered in Moldova was discussed.
  • Mrs Lidia Guţu hands out to the President of the Republic of Bulgaria the credential letters
    On July 10, 2009, Mrs Lidia Guţu handed out to Mr Gheorghi Pîrvanov, President of the Republic of Bulgaria, the credential letters appointing her as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Moldova.During the discussions there were examined the basic issues of the Moldovan-Bulgarian relations, here being appreciated the dynamic dialogue at the highest level.
  • Chisinău Summit of the South East European Cooperation Process
    In the framework of the Chairmanship-in-Office of the Republic of Moldova to the SEECP, on 5 June 2009, in Chisinau, the 12th Meeting of the SEECP Heads of State and Government took place, preceded on 4 June 2009, by the Meeting of the SEECP Ministers of Foreign Affairs.
  • Andrei Stratan met with the Russian Ambassador to Moldova
    On May 26, the acting Deputy Prime-minister Andrei Stratan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, met with Valerii Kuzimin, Ambassador of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Moldova
  • Moldovan Delegation Participates in the OSCE Economic and Environmental Forum
    The Moldovan delegation, headed by the Deputy-minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, Valeriu Ostalep, participates at the 17th Meeting of the OSCE Economic and Environment Forum, which is held in Athens on May 18-19, under the Greek Presidency of the OSCE. The Forum is focused on issues related to migration management in the context of global economic crisis as well as on connections with the security and stability policies in the OSCE area.
  • The 119 Session of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe
    Today, 12 may 2009, Mr Valeriu Ostalep, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration led the Moldovan delegation at the 119 Session of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe held in Madrid.
  • In Focus: Mobility Partnership
    The third Reunion of the Mobility Partnership EU—Moldova Cooperation Platform will take place on May 13 in Chisinau, to be attended by a Delegation of the European Commission, as well as representatives of the EU member states who will discuss with their partners from involved national institutions the Mobility Partnership implementation process.
  • The Session of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe
    On 12 May 2009, Mr Valeriu Ostalep, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, will participate at the 119th Session of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe, to be held in Madrid.
  • Minister Andrei Stratan met in Prague with Benita Ferrero-Waldner
    On the occasion of the participation at the Eastern Partnership Summit, Andrei Stratan, Deputy Prime -Minister, Minister for Foreign Affaires and European Integration of the Republic of Moldova met today in Prague, Benita Ferrero-Waldner, Commissioner responsible for External Relations and European Neighbourhood Policy. The discussions mainly touched upon the current social and political situation from the Republic of Moldova and EU, possibilities of further developing the EU-Moldova relations.
  • The Moldovan-Estonian consultations on consular matters
    On April 29, 2009 in Chisinau took place the consular consultations between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of the Republic of Moldova and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Estonia.
  • Moldovan-turkish consultations
    On April 23rd Moldovan-Turkish political consultations took place at the MFAEI, conducted by delegations headed by Mr. Valeriu Ostalep, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of the Republic of Moldova and Mr. Ünal Çeviköz, Deputy State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkey.
  • The third meeting of the Consular Club took place, established by MFAIE
    On 17 April 2009, the Ministry of Justice held the third meeting of the Consular Club, established by the MFAEI with a view to strengthen and further develop the relations between the Moldovan authorities and the diplomatic missions and consular offices accredited to the Republic of Moldova.
  • Minister Andrei Stratan had a phone conversation with his Czech counterpart Karel Schwarzenberg
    Today, April 13, 2009, Mr. Andrei Stratan, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, had a phone conversation with Mr. Karel Schwarzenberg, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic, the country presently holding the Presidency of the European Union Council.
  • Minister Andrei Stratan had a phone conversation with his Polish counterpart, Radoslaw Sikorski
    Mr. Andrei Stratan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, had a phone conversation with Mr. Radoslaw Sikorski, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland. The discussion focussed mainly on the situation in Moldova after the Parliamentary elections which took place on April 5.
  • President Vladimir Voronin had a phone conversation with his Lithuanian counterpart
    The Moldovan President Vladimir Voronin had today a phone conversation with the President of the Republic of Lithuania, Valdas Adamkus, reported to MOLDPRES the press service of the presidential institution.
  • The CIS foreign ministers focused on Republic of Moldova events
    Today, in Ashgabad, Turkmenistan, took place the ordinary meeting of the Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs (CMFA) of the Community of Independent States, at which participated the delegation of the Republic of Moldova as well, headed by Mr. Valeriu Ostalep, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration.
  • The Ambassador Filip Teodorescu was declared "persona non grata"
  • The Ambassador of the Republic of Moldova to Romania, Mrs. Lidia Guţu, was summoned to Chişinău for consultations
  • Heads of missions have been convoked at the MFAEI
    On April 7, 2009, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration have been convened Ambassadors of the Czech Republic (state presently holding the Presidency of the EU), Russian Federation, United States of America, as well as Ambassador, Head of the European Commission Delegation, accredited to the Republic of Moldova.
